M&A continues to be the cause of the most confusing situations encountered by TPAs. Just when you think you have it licked… another situation arises that makes you crazy. Frankly, it’s common for all the players — the client and the person on the other side of the transaction, the TPA, and the advisor — to have misconceptions about how the plan needs to be handled after (or before!) a transaction.
